Nigeria – The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called on the new Agbaigba of Ijaka-Oke, Oba Joseph Ogungbohun to ensure speedy and sustainable developmental growth of Ijaka-Oke and its environs in order to bring the community to the enviable status among its contemporaries.
The Governor who made the call during the Official Installation and Presentation of Staff of Office to the new monarch at Ijaka-Oke, Yewa North Local Government, said it was imperative for the new monarch to be proactive by embracing new innovations and implementing sustainable projects that would bring about the overall socio-economic development of the community.
Represented by the Hon. Commissioner in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the governor stressed that the present administration is keen at ensuring that the Traditional Institution and its leadership are properly positioned as they serve as the bridge between the people at the grassroots and the government, hence the need for prompt attention of filling vacant stools in the state to ensure dividend of democracy cuts across all and sundry.
Abiodun explained that as Part III Coronet Oba, the new monarch had become the royal custodian of the culture and tradition of Ijaka-Oke and therefore he must continue to champion efforts that could enhance peaceful co-existence among his people and other royal fathers in Yewaland in order to justify the mandate and trust reposed in him by the government and good people of Ijaka-Oke.
He noted that it was eminent that the people of Ijaka-Oke give their support and cooperation to the new monarch and also ensure all hands are on deck so as to further pave way for the developmental growth of the community.
In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman, Yewa North Local Government Area, Hon. Gabriel Ogunyomi, advised the kabiyesi to harness the potentials in the land so as to support the ISEYA Mantra which is developmental drive of the present administration, while urging sons and daughters of Ijaka-Oke both at home and in diaspora to rally round and support the kabiyesi in his vision and mission to transform Ijaka-Oke to an enviable land by facilitating growth, unity and the development of the Land.
Delivering his acceptance speech, the new Agbaigba of Ijaka-Oke, Oba Joseph Ogungbohun, appreciated the Governor and the good people of Ijaka-Oke for the opportunity bestowed on him to serve, promising that developmental projects, workable, futuristic and friendly policies that would attract external investors would be implemented so as to improve the well-being and the economy of the community.
He however solicited for more infrastructural development of Yewa land in general.
The occasion was graced by many traditional rulers and other dignitaries from all walks of life.
