Nigeria, Ado-Odo – The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has charged the new Olofin of Ado-Odo, Oba Olusola Lamidi-Osolo to concentrate on the task of accelerating the pace and socio-economic development of Ado-Odo in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the State.
The Governor who gave the charge at the official Installation and presentation of staff of office to the new monarch, said the new monarch should see his appointment as a call to serve and therefore must complement the effort of the present administration in actualizing its vision of “Building Our Future Together”, which is encapsulated in the ISEYA mantra.
Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, said, it was imperative for the new monarch to harness all resources both human and materials to be able to execute seamless developmental projects, while steering the ship of Ado-Odo to greater heights.
The helmsman stressed that the unflinching support and cooperation of the sons and daughters of the land to the new monarch would enhance the meaningful development in the community, noting that all must shun every act of rancor and acrimony, but embrace peace and tranquility.
In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Hon. Sherif Adewale, admonished the new monarch to bridge the gap of development and ensure peaceful co-existence among the community members of the town.
In his remarks, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, represented by Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamin Olanite, said the new monarch serves as the symbol of the land, hence the people of the community should support and cooperate with the king to bring about the overall development and advancement of Ado-Odo, while praying good health and sound mind for the monarch to paddle the affairs of this land so that his reign would record unprecedented success.
In his acceptance speech, the Olofin of Ado-Odo, Oba Olusola Lamidi-Osolo, appreciated the Governor for the privilege to serve and also the trust reposed on him by the people of Ado-Odo, promising that he would continue the noble work of his past leaders through service to the people, resolving that all would be done in his capacity to lead Ado-Odo kingdom into a new era of prosperity and unity.
“As I ascend the sacred throne, I pledge to devote every ounce of my being to the betterment of Ado-Odo. Together we will restore our kingdom to its former glory, ushering in an era of prosperity, peace and progress for all our people”, Oba Olusola Lamidi-Osolo said.
He called on members of the community to join hands together in piloting the affairs of the land, with unity, determination and shared vision thereby charting a course towards a brighter future for Ado-Odo where everyone can thrive and flourish.
The occasion was also graced by the members of Yewa Traditional Council, Political appointees, and other well-wishers.
