Ambassador Isola mourns demise of ex-speaker Dimeji Bankole’s mother, Alhaja Monsurat Atinuke Bankole

Nigeria – The former Nigeria High Commissioner to United Kingdom, His Excellency Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola OFR has expressed his condolences to former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, and his family on the passing away of his mother, Alhaja Monsurat Atinuke Bankole, today Friday, 10th January, 2024 at the aged of 78.

Ambassador Isola, (Baba Adinni of Ogun State) in his condolence message wrote: “It is with profound sadness that I, join the Egba Muslims, distinguished dignitaries, and sympathizers in condoling with Rt. Hon. Abdulsabur Dimeji Bankole and the entire Bankole family on the demise of their revered matriarch and Iya Adinni of Egbaland, Alhaja Monsurat Atinuke Bankole, who passed away at the age of 78.

“The news of Alhaja Monsurat Bankole’s passing came as a shock, and her absence is deeply felt, especially at a time when her wisdom and guidance were needed most.

“As a devoted Muslim, community leader, and mother of many, including the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdulsabur Dimeji Bankole, Alhaja Monsurat Atinuke Bankole left an indelible mark on her community and beyond.

“In this moment of grief, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the Bankole family, praying that Almighty Allah grants them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

“As the Holy Qur’an reminds us, “Every soul shall taste death, and you will be paid in full only on the Day of Resurrection” (Qur’an 3:185). May Alhaja Monsurat Atinuke Bankole’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire and uplift future generations.

“I pray that Allah comforts the Bankole family during this difficult time and grants them the strength to carry on Alhaja Monsurat Atinuke Bankole’s remarkable work. May we all draw lessons from her life of service, compassion, and devotion to her community.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the Bankole family”.
