Army captured terrorist behind deadly Taraba attack

The 6th Brigade of Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE have apprehended deadly 39-year-old Hassan Ibrahim, alias “Godu”, said to be the mastermind behind the devastating attack on Mararaban Azagawa Village in Taraba State.

According to Nigerian Army report, the attack which occured on June 16, 2024, claimed five lives and left several injured.

The army troops, it was stated, launched a special operation on credible intelligence, during which Hassan was arrested.

A dane gun, cartridges, and a motorcycle belonging to one of the victims were recovered.

Army said, the deadly terrorist has confessed to his involvement and is cooperating with authorities to capture his accomplices.

“He is currently in custody, cooperation with authorities to help capture his collaborators”, Army stated.

The Brigade Commander, 6th Brigade Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the public for their support and urged continued collaboration to eliminate criminal activities in Taraba State.

“This significant achievement marks a crucial step towards restoring peace and security in the affected community, demonstrating the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting lives and property”, he said.
