Ayetoro-Yewa – A Perfect Example of Unity in Diversity, Celebrates 35th Edition of Ayetoro Festival

Nigeria, Ogun State – The people of Ayetoro, the headquarters of Yewa North Local Government of Ogun State, will on Saturday, 8th November 2025, celebrate the 35th edition of the Annual Ayetoro Day Festival.

According to a release from the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, High Chief Kunle Amosun, the Asiwaju of Ayetoro Land, the activities will start on Monday 3rd November with the beating of Gbedu Drum at Alaye Palace at 7:00 am signalling the beginning of a week long activities.

The festival programme are as follows: “Prayer and visits to historical sites and the semifinal match of the football competition among clubs in the town will hold the same Monday.

“On Tuesday, 4th November, a special humanitarian visit will be made to hospitals while Health Outreach will hold at the Palace.

“Other programmes include educational discussion ,cultural display, marathon race, and the final match of the football competition scheduled to take place at designated centres on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th November, respectively.

“On Friday 7th November, a special Jumat Service will be held at the Ayetoro Central at 1:00 pm while the pre-grandfinale annual dinner -‘Yanrin Night’ featuring awards and pageant show will hold at the Omidokun Hall beginning from 6:00 in the evening.

“The grandfinale, featuring cultural displays, homage paying, and launching of one billion Naira Ayetoro Arcade Ground and Civic Centre will be held on Saturday 8th November, 2025 at the open field of the Comprehensive High School Ayetoro
The Executive Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, is the Chief Guest of Honour”.

The release disclosed that, “His Excellency, Senator Dr Iyiola Ajani Omisore, Former Deputy Governor of Osun State and Professor Mohammed Ali Pate, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Federal Republic of Nigeria are expected as Chairman and Special Guest of Honour respectively.

“Other Dignitaries expected to grace the event include the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Engr Noimot Salako -Oyedele, the Senator representating Ogun West at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly and the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola-Yayi and the Member Representing Yewa North /Imeko Afon Federal constituency at the National Assembly, Prince Gboyega Isiaka among others.

“Oba Abdul-Azeez Isola Adelakun, (Akinola the 2nd) the Alaye of Ayetoro is the Royal Father of the Day while Dr.Iziaq Kunle Salako, Hon Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare will serve as the Principal Host”.

The release further indicates that special church service to round off the annual festival will hold on Sunday 9th November at St Paul’s Anglican Church Ayetoro beginning from 10.00 am.
