BON Announces Commencement of Entries for 2nd Edition of “The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards”

The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria, BON has announced the commencement of entries for the 2nd edition of its annual Awards “The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards” (TNBA), from qualified broadcast practitioners whose broadcast stations are members of BON.

In a statement signed by the chairman of the award committee and the Executive Secretary of BON respectively which was forwarded to Prowling Eagles, entries for each of the 12 award categories in Radio and Television productions will commence on Tuesday, July 1st, and end on Thursday, July 31st, 2025.

According to the statement, the Awards are as follows: Radio Award Categories have, Radio Station of the Year; Best Radio Station – News in English Language;
Best Radio Station – News in Indigenous Language; Best Radio Station – Original Production in Business/ Drama/Sports (English Language); Best Radio Station – Original Production in Business/Drama/Sports (Indigenous Language); Best Radio Production in Documentary/Feature (English Language);
Best Radio Production in Documentary/Feature (Indigenous Language); Best Radio Show (English Language); Best Radio Show (Indigenous Language); Newscaster of the Year; Reporter of the Year and Presenter of the Year.

In Television Award Categories: Television Station of the Year; Best Television Station – News in English Language; Best Television Station – News (Indigenous Language);
Best Television Station – Original Production in Business/Drama/Sports (English Language); Best Television – Original Production Business/Drama/Sports (Indigenous Language); Best Television Production in Documentary/Feature – (English Language); Best Television Production in Documentary/Feature – (Indigenous Language); Best Television Show (English Language); Best Television Show (Indigenous Language); Newscaster of the Year; Reporter of the Year and Presenter of the Year.

It stated further that the award covers works done between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2024.

“Interested and qualified broadcast practitioners are enjoined to visit the TNBA website (www.tnbawards.ng) for details.
BON member stations have been duly notified about the procedure”, the statement read.

The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards (TNBA) is the industry’s attempt at recognising and celebrating excellence in the Nigerian broadcasting industry.

The climax of the event, according to the statement is slated for the 2nd week of October, 2025.
