Nigeria, Ogun State – The Old Students’ Association of Obalaju High School (OBAOSA), in a heartwarming display of unflinching support to their root, has donated a wide array of books, notebooks and writing materials to their alma mater.
The donation, aimed at enhancing the learning experience for students, was officially handed over in a ceremony at the school premises held on Friday, 20th September 2024.
The President of the old students body, Dr. Morakinyo Oloyede, in his remarks at the occasion, emphasized the importance of giving back to the institution that shaped their lives and noted that the donation is to complement the effort of the government towards improving the quality of education.
He urged the students to make the best use of the materials provided to the them.
“It is not about this school, it is about what you are able to take away from it and bring to the world”, Dr Oloyede submitted while noting his delight to always showcase Obalaju High School wherever he finds himself.
This act of philanthropy serves as a reminder of the enduring connection between past and present students, and the potential impact alumni can have on the future of their alma mater.
Other personalities at the event were Mrs. Ogunremi, the Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Teaching Service Commission who commended the kind gesture of the Old Students Association and charged the teachers to be up and doing, see the students as their children and ensure they excel in their studies under their watch.
Both the outgoing Principal, Mrs. Akingbade and the new Principal, Mrs. Ademola-Yusuf appreciated the Old Students for the relentless supports to the school.
Other dignitaries present include the members of the Executive of the Association and other Old Students, Imam Suleiman Bello, Representative of Obalaju Parents’ Club among many others.
