Nigeria – A member of a kidnap gang in Ogun State has been arrested by the State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps.
The suspect, Ojugbele Joshua, as confirmed by the Office of the State Commander of the Corps, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf is one of the suspects linked to the kidnapping case that took place on Monday 29 January, 2024 at Olorunsogo Community, Olorunda in Abeokuta North Local Government Area in which the victim, 17 years old boy Otohu Moses was rescued unhurt by the Corps.
The security outfit stated that continuous combing of the bushes where the kidnappers is suspected to be using as hideout and aggressive surveillance yielded a positive result as Ojugbele Joshua, a resident of Onju Village situated about eight kilometers from Olorunda was arrested while looking for ways to stop the bleeding on his leg, as a result of wound he sustained during the battle with the Corps before their escape on Tuesday 30 January, 2024.
The Corps Commandant, Ganzallo noted that during preliminary investigation, the suspect, Ojugbele Joshua confessed to the crime to be true and he mentioned that they were gang of three members who Kidnapped the earlier rescued victim.
He further stated that the apprehended suspect also made it known that their employer would never believe they are into kidnapping act.
The suspect, he said has been transfered to the Nigeria Police Force, Imala Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
