Nigeria – A chieftain of the ruling party in Ogun State, APC, and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kayode Oladele has warned the Ogun West indigenes to be wary of those criticizing the Senator representing Senatorial District and Aremo of Yewaland, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, for facilitating social safety nets programs for tens of thousands of his constituents in order to reduce poverty and narrow the inequality gaps in the Senatorial District and also in a bid to support and compliment the efforts of the State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Oladele, in a statement he issued as response to a media report by unidentified sources, criticising Senator Adeola over his multiple federal projects, he facilitated said, it is disheartening that certain unpatriotic Monday morning quarterback individuals with inordinate ambitions are hiding behind a finger to blackmail and kick against the laudable ideals and principles behind Senator Yayi’s safety net and infrastructural development programmes in the Senatorial District.

Oladele, an international human rights lawyer and public analyst, warned the good people of Ogun West Senatorial District to be vigilant and stay away from turncoat, deceptive, dangerous and pretentious politicians who have no credible plans for the people and whose stock in trade consists only of blackmail, erratic behavior and other deceptive tactics that have reached embarrassingly epidemic levels.

He warned further that this set of dangerous politicians only focus on themselves and their selfish inordinate ambitions alone rather than the collective interests of the people. He described their characters as an amalgamation of retrogressive ideas, individuality and toxic principles which must be avoided in a democratic society.

According to Oladele, Senator Olamilekan Adeola is working collaboratively with Ogun State government to ameliorate the livelihoods of the people of Ogun West Senatorial District through the facilitation and provision of social safety net programs.

“The components of these programs consist of provision of infrastructure, investment in human capital, bursaries and scholarships, empowerment programs, capacity building and facilitation of several other federally assisted programmes aimed at improving the lives of the vulnerable families and individuals that can help lower inequality and improve the standard of living in the Senatorial District.

“These programmes, which complement the efforts of the state government’s several intervention programmes, have been described as not only having positive impacts on the people but also commendable and unprecedented”, he stated.
