Nigeria – A leader of the APC in Ogun State and human rights crusader, Hon. Kayode Oladele has appealed to Muslim faithful and by extension, all Nigerians to imbibe love, obedience and sacrifice as enshrined and admonished in the annual celebration of Eid El Adha (Ileya festival).
The social activist, in his felicitation statement said, “Today, I felicitate with our Muslim faithful as they celebrate the annual Eid El Kabir festival and enjoin them and all Nigerians to take cognizance of and abide with the lessons of love, obedience and sacrifice as admonished by Almighty Allah. Keeping faith with Allah’s admonitions, as enshrined in the teachings and lessons of the festival should transcend beyond the mere celebrations and reflect in our daily actions as true Nigerians. Our faith, love and commitment to make sacrifices, particularly at this period, becomes more crucial as the nation battles with socio-economic survival. This love and faith will also serve as soothing balm, even as we continue to endure the current economic hardships to lay a solid foundation for future economic prosperity in Nigeria”.
Oladele also appeals to Nigerian Muslims, particularly those on Holy Pilgrimage to Mecca to pray for peace, unity and quick turnaround of the nation’s economy, noting that, “Your spiritual voyage to the Holy Land, Mecca, has offered yet another opportunity for you to pray for God’s guidance and direction for our leaders, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his cabinet ministers, members of the National Assembly, leaders at the national and sub national levels in their frantic efforts at rejuvenating and turning around the economic fortunes of our dear country, Nigeria”.
