Nigeria, Ogun – The former Chairman House Committee on Financial Crimes and international human rights lawyer, Hon. Kayode Oladele, has felicitated with the Asiwaju of Yewaland, Professor Emeritus, Chief Anthony Ijaola Asiwaju and HRH Oba Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, the Eselu of Iselu Kingdom on the occasion of their birthday.
Hon. Oladele in a statement sent to ProwlingEagles described Professor Anthony Asiwaju as a foremost historian of global repute, whose contributions to national and global development in his chosen field are legendary and unquantifiable.
He said, “Sir, your remarkable achievements and academic excellence have brought glory and honour to your land of birth, Imeko, Yewaland, Ogun State and indeed, Nigeria. As a leading light in Yewaland, you have laid the path for progress and development and have been a source of inspiration to many of us who have in one way or another identified with you.
“You have been and will continue to be a beacon of hope to present and future generations. I salute and acknowledge with great admiration your relentless striving, unwavering determination and dogged spirit to distinguish yourself in your chosen career and use same to elevate Nigeria’s status in the comity of nations.
“Your publications and researched work in the field of history, are globally acclaimed and I am indeed proud to be identified with and share a common birthplace (Imeko-Yewa) with your distinguished self. I pray that your special day is filled with good memories and that you celebrate many more years in good health and abundant grace of God. Congratulations, and happy birthday, sir”.
Hon. Oladele, in a felicitation letter to His Royal Highness, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, the Eselu of Iselu Kingdom, Yewa North LGA, Ogun State, described revered monarch, as one of the high ranking Yewa monarchs who has devoted his time, resources and energy towards articulating, promoting and defending the interests of his fellow monarchs, his subjects and the entire Yewland.
Oladele, who was Chief of Staff to the former Chairman EFCC and Chairman of Iselu Development Council (IDC), said, “In my humble estimation, I have known “Eselu” as a dogged fighter, a consummate advocate of justice and fairness. He is noted for and well respected, even by his peers, for his outspokenness, boldness and courageous disposition, even in the face of intimidation, in championing the good cause of his colleagues, his subjects and will go to any length to achieve the desired goal for the benefits of his people.
“As an articulate and progressive-minded monarch, Oba Akintunde dines and wines with powers that be without compromising his traditional status. Very accommodating and very unassuming.
