Nigeria, Oja-Odan – The Ogun State Police Command has commenced investigation into a case of conspiracy and murder of a six-year-old boy in Ebute Igboro town in Yewa North local government area of the state.
Operatives of the Command attached to Ebute-Igbooro and Oja-Odan Division have arrested two suspects for the alleged conspiracy and killing of the minor for ritual purposes.
Information has that, the ugly incident was first reported by Mr. Bara Kehinde, at Ebute-Igbooro police post that his son, Pemisere Bara, aged six years and four months, went missing after he was sent on an errand at about 6:40pm on January 27, 2026, but never returned home.
According to the report, the distraught father strongly suspected one Rebecca Sunday, a co-resident, prompting immediate police attention and preliminary investigation led by Supol Ojo, who transferred the case to Oja-Odan Divisional Headquarters.
The case took a disturbing turn on January 29, 2026, when a corpse was discovered floating on the surface of the Yewa River at Ebute Igboro, along Ilaro-Oja-Odan road.
ProwlingEagles learnt following the discovery, a team of detectives led by the Oja-Odan Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Oluwatosin Esther, visited the scene alongside the suspect.
During the operation, the suspect reportedly confessed to collecting a “diabolical ring” from one Oluibi Ajibola, a male resident of Olurin area of Ebute Igboro, Ilaro Road.
The suspect, it was further learnt alleged that an agreement was reached between her and Ajibola that she would be paid ₦150,000 if she produced a child to be used for alleged ritual purposes.
In a swift response, the police intensified efforts in collaboration with local youths in the community, leading to the arrest of the said Oluibi Ajibola.
Police report confirmed that preliminary investigation is ongoing, as detectives work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death and ensure all individuals connected to the crime are brought to justice.
