Nigeria – The Rivers State Police Command has successfully neutralized a notorious kidnap kingpin and murder suspect, Nkem ThankGod, a.k.a. “2man,” aged 42, from Ogbologbolo Community, Ahoada West Local Government Area.
This individual, who is a leader of the Greenlander Cult Group, as confirmed by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, had been responsible for a series of heinous crimes in Ahoada East and Ahoada West LGAs, including: Murder; Killing of the Youth President of Okogbe Community; Mr. Christmas Ede, on December 21, 2021; Multiple killings in 2024, including two PMF 48 personnel, three civilians (Mr. and Mrs. Rex Kiriki and Mrs. Abigail Victor), and a spare parts dealer after collecting ransom; Murdering of two Shell staff in Okogbe and stealing of their Toyota Hilux.
His operation also include attacks on Police: 1. Shooting of SP Bello during a rescue operation in 2022 and Killing of two Rapid Response Team officers in early 2023.
Similarly, according to the CP, the deceased involved in kidnapping and carjacking of a red Toyota Camry from Dare Shola in October 2024.
He was also alleged to have orchestrated several kidnappings and extortion of ransoms before killing victims.
He was involved in frequent vandalization of oil pipelines and government installations in Ahoada West.
However, Nkem ThankGod met his end during an intelligence-led operation while attempting another kidnapping.
His gang members managed to escape with injuries, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
Exhibits Recovered include, two (2) AK-47 rifles; five (5) magazines and twenty-two (22) rounds of live ammunition.
“The Rivers State Police Command reaffirms its commitment to protecting lives and property and will continue working to dismantle criminal networks in the region”, the Command’sspokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko stated.
