Rotary Club Of Abeokuta Metro Installs New President

Rotarian Abiodun Ogundaini, New President Rotary Club of Abeokuta Metro, Senator Lanre Tejuosho, former Senator representing Ogun Central and Rotarian Sanni Oladapo Michael Immediate Past President Rotary Club of Abeokuta Metro, at the investiture of new president of the club, held at The Event Tower, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

Nigeria – The Rotary Club of Abeokuta Metropolitan, District 9111, has installed Rtn. Abiodun Ogundaini as the 23rd Rotary President at the installation ceremony, held at The Event Tower, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

Speaking at his installation ceremony, Ogundaini stated that the board and members of the club had achieved tremendously through irresistible magical strides, noting that they had strived to inspire change, create hope and drive positive change within the community through projects and programmes which was in line with seven areas of focus.

He said that the Rotary were determined to sustain and expand the club’s impact spanning over two decades, saying that club would continue to invest on Time, Talent, Treasure, Thinking and Trust to creating lasting change to ignite hope and inspire passion among members.

“Our goals for the year are audacious, yet achievable. Some include supporting and implementing health, education, water provision, empowerment and many other lofty projects and programmes that would change lives for the better.

“Indeed, this is the way we can make a difference and be the magic the world is looking forward to, so, no doubt I will complement the efforts of my predecessor in making life well meaningful to the people in our community,” Ogundaini said

In his remarks, Chairman of the programme, Engr. Ola Sobande, stated that he saw Rotary Club as a viable platform for driving inclusion, national cohesion and sustainable development.

“In fact, I am delighted to be part of the Club in their service project focusing on empowering people’s oriented-projects. I believe that the club, under the leadership of Rtn. Abiodun Ogundaini, will deliver on its mandate of promoting friendships, goodwill, humanitarian service and community development.

“Surely, we have come a long way. Rtn. Abiodun Ogundaini is an experienced Rotarian. He has so much experience and has contributed to the development of some clubs, when he was young then in Ota, I have known him from childhood with so much activities. He is an influencer with a good vision. I am very confident that the club will witness lots of progress and innovation under his leadership,” Sobande said

Also, the District Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Dr. Oluwole Kukoyi expressed confidence in Ogundaini, stating that his experience and contributions to the Club make him fit for the role, urging members to support the new administration in its quest to serve humanity.

“Rotary International has been in existence for 119 years, being the oldest NGO in the world. We have impacted lives and have become one of the greatest organisations globally. I urge you to lend a hand to create the magic of Rotary,” he stated

In his welcome address, the Chairman, Investiture Committee, Rtn. Babatunde Aremu, urged members of the Rotary Club of Abeokuta Metropolitan to commit their time, and talent towards community and national development.
