Nigeria – The construction of Maternity Centre at Igbeme in Ohunbe Ward would finally end the suffering the residents particularly pregnant women who usually travel kilometres out of the community before accessing affordable health care service for their well-being
The Chairman, Yewa North Local Government, Dr Olusola Akinbode, who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen after the foundation laying ceremony in Igbeme, assured other communities in the council area of replicating same health centre design across the local government where necessary, calling for support and cooperation of residents towards taking the ownership of the construction for smooth completion.
He said, “This initiative, would cut across the length and breadth of our local government area to promote affordable service delivery as this in tandem with His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun’s mantra in providing affordable health care service”.
In their separate remarks, the Councillor representing Ohunbe Ward, Hon Emmanuel Opeisa, the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Hon Oluwasogo Edun and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Women Leader, Mrs Folashade Ogunola commended the efforts of the present administration-led by the Governor for constructing the maternity centre across the state, that would have direct impact on the wellness of the people particularly ending their suffering in looking for health centre from far away Communities in the area.
Other dignitaries present were the Vice Chairman of the council, Hon Olumide Ilori; the Baale of Igbeme, Chief Ewebi Philip; APC, Ward Chairman, Evangelist Fatunbi Mathew; Community Leader, Chief Wale Ogundipe and many others.
