GENERAL PUBLIC STATEMENT ON WRONG INSINUATION AND MISINFORMATION ABOUT YEWA NORTH PATRIOTIC FORUM AS BEING ANTI PRINCE DAPO ABIODUN ADMINISTRATION

TODAY, AUGUST 21ST 2024

Yewa North Patriotic Forum unequivocally refutes the scurrilous insinuation that our organization harbours an anti-government or anti-Prince Dapo Abiodun administration sentiment. This calumnious rumour is utterly bereft of factual basis and grossly misrepresents the true essence and accomplishments of our forum.

Our forum is singularly devoted to promoting peaceful development and progress in Yewa North Local Government, Yewaland, Ogun State and Nigeria at large, through a multifaceted approach that encompasses community engagement, advocacy, and collaborative partnerships with relevant stakeholders. Our achievements in this regard are manifold, including:

1. Facilitating the restoration of peace and stability to our region during the farmers herders’ crisis, which occasioned the significant human and material losses.

2. Ensuring the safety and security of lives and properties during a period of heightened insecurity, marked by kidnappings and killings.

3. Restoring normalcy to Joga Orile, Iboro, Imasayi, and environs during the period of one Mr. Babajide Muyideen a.k.a OSU was terrorizing these areas through concerted efforts and strategic interventions.

4. Vigorously defending our people and seeking justice for innocent lives lost during a Nigeria Police Force Ogun State Command operation in Saala Orile on January 25th, 2021, which was highly commendable.

5. Advocating against the egregious killings of innocent people during Nigerian Customs Service operations against smugglers, which have resulted in unacceptable collateral damage and human sufferings.

6. Bringing attention to the plight of our people living in international boundary communities, who have been neglected for an inordinate period and denied access to basic amenities and infrastructures.

7. Calling for the revival of dilapidating infrastructures in our area, which are critical to the socio-economic development and prosperity of our people.

8. Welcoming the Supreme Court’s landmark judgment on local government financial autonomy and appreciating His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visionary leadership and efforts towards achieving this goal.

9. Engaging with relevant agencies on electricity restoration to Yewa North communities that have been in darkness for over two years.

10. Standing up against territorial encroachment of Benin Republic and incarceration of Pastor Dr. Olukunle Garb, we stood as the only formidable group in Yewaland to challenge this abnormality by Benoise government, which made the government of Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari to give Pastor Garb National Merit Award for defending Nigeria territory.

11. We call for the refurbishment, equipping, and modernization of the fire service station in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government. This critical infrastructure is essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. The current fire service station is in a deplorable state, lacking modern equipment and facilities to effectively respond to fire emergencies. We believe in constructive engagement with the government and relevant stakeholders to address the complex challenges facing our community, and our efforts are geared towards complementing the government’s initiatives, rather than opposing them.

We challenge those spreading this malicious, misinformation to provide empirical evidence of our alleged anti-government stance, and we are confident that a thorough examination of our activities and achievements will reveal the falsity of these claims.

Furthermore, we categorically state that those spreading such wrong information are enemies of progress in Yewaland, Ogun State, and Nigeria at large. Their malicious attempts to discredit our forum and undermine our efforts towards development and progress are reprehensible and will not be tolerated. We urge His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun MFR CON, to recognize these individuals as enemies of progress and development, and to take necessary measures to address their nefarious activities.

We remain committed to our mission of promoting peaceful development and progress in Yewaland, Ogun State and Nigeria, and we will not be deterred by the machinations of those who seek to hinder our progress.

We also wish to emphasize that the Yewa North Patriotic Forum is not a political group, and we will not be swayed by political affiliations or interests. Our sole purpose is to remain the mouthpiece of our people, advocating for developmental and progressive stands that benefit the greater good of Yewaland, Ogun State and Nigeria. We will continue to work tirelessly towards this goal, undeterred by the machinations of those who seek to hinder our progress.

Thank you!

Long live Yewa North Patriotic Forum!
Long live Ogun State!!
Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!

Yours faithfully,

Adeyemi Sunday
President, Yewa North Patriotic Forum
